Lifey Update

Hello, Everyone!

I'm going to just jump in with all my cool and groovy news!

Cool and groovy news 1.) Lill' ol' me finally owns a firearm! *Squeeee* This is a big, exciting thing. It goes bang and I love it.
I've been interested in owning a gun for a long time. At least five years. I'm sort of  a slow mover when it comes to doing stuff. But here I am, the proud owner of a sleek, black gun.
In October/November-ish, I'm hoping to take a 4 day handgun class from the same place I took hand to hand combat and knife fighting last year. Which is part of the reason I finally bought the thing. I want to train with my own weapon. :)
I still need to name my gun. But I haven't settled on a worthy name yet. Ideas are welcomed.

Cool and groovy news 2.) This timid potato signed up for a year of boxing classes!
Honestly, it's both way fun and way terrifying. It was one of my new year resolutions (See? Slow mover!) and I was like, "It's now or never!"
One of my sisters signed up with me, (Because this timid little potato couldn't do it alone) and we've had...4? or Maybe 5 classes so far.
Picture this: 7-10 young, athletic fellows... All of whom know what they're doing... Some of them training for real fights. And two small girls who have very little idea of what they're doing and somehow manage to look dainty even with boxing gloves on.
Class starts: *Teacher* "Time to jump rope for 10 minutes"
*Me* "Okay..." Jump jump jump....
I0 minutes later...*me dying a little* (Oh, and thank you, giant wall mirror. I now know that I look like a rabbit when I jump rope.)
*Teacher* "Let's shadow box!"
*Me* "Yes lets. I can do this!"
*Teacher* "Time for some sweet boxing combinations!"
*Me* "Yay! I totally love this!"
Sweating and lots of heavy breathing....
*Teacher* "Let's do 150 crunches!"
*Me* "WHAT?!" *Writhes on the floor. Dies...*
*5 minutes later*
*Teacher* "Awesome, hour's up! See you next week"
*Me* "Oh yes, for sure!*

But actually, the Teacher is very nice, as are the rest of the students, and they're all very polite and encouraging to us two, nervous girls.

Thus ends my cool and groovy news...

Otherwise, Summer has been pretty nice this year. The weather's been lovely and I've snuck in more days at the lake this year than I managed last year. I've also managed to burn almost every time I've gone out. *Sigh* The price I pay for forgetting sunscreen.

There was one particularly awesome day a couple weeks ago when we spent the day at the beach. We swam for ages, built a really loppsy sandcastle, had snacks and chatted about our favorite old Disney Movies. (Moonspinners! Such the best!)

Erm...It looked cooler in real life. Just saying...

I finally took my sister's suggestion and read The Virginian. (Well...I'm almost finish reading it.) It is so delightfully Wild West! I love cowboys and that part of American history, but it's tricky finding good books in that time frame.
The Virginian nails it. NAILS IT.
I settled down on my day off to just binge-read it, and after the first couple chapters, I went to get my cowboy hat out of the closet. :)
So, you know, if you want to read something really good, go find The Virginian. IT'S GOOD!

Also, I'd like to say that I was sort of trying to be really 'on it' with recording a song for my channel this month. I recorded two songs. And I filmed video for two songs.
And I hate both of them. They just didn't mesh. They refused to work. They're loathsome.
So I'm not going to post either of them. *Broods*
It just hasn't been my month with music. It makes me feel angry. Like, I should be getting better at making videos with all the practice I've been having. But I sort of feel like these last two attempts were some of the worst quality things I've done.
It took a great amount of self control not to drop-kick my laptop out the door after the last one.

So...Fingers crossed for next month, eh?

Lately I've been having so much inspiration for writing music, arranging music, and an idea for a musical that I'd like to write (HAHAHA!) but finding myself without the know how to make it happen. Why don't I have any musician friends to do all the hard parts for me? You know how awesome that would be? Like, here I have a melody and some lyrics. Could you please come up with a piano, drum and possibly guitar part for it? Thanks. Oh yes, and if you could please put it down in musical annotation that would be the best!

So, since I failed epically with recording a song for this month, I'm going to just leave you with a song that I heard for the first time a couple days ago. Because this is kinda epic.

I must go now. I need to prep for dinner and maybe have a snack.

God Bless!
Amy

Song of the week

Hello, Everyone:

Some days are just really long...

Some weeks are just really long...

And during those sorts of times I have some music that I refer to as my 'soul' music. It's the music that I connect to the most, that makes me feel like my very soul is touched by music.

There's one song in particular that I've been very into lately. It's in Italian (Okay fine. It's an Il Volo song...) and I listened to it while I read the English translation and I sort of fell in love with it.

I've sat her for the last 20 minutes trying to figure out how to make columns so that I could have the English and Italian side by side...
Alas and alack, blogger doesn't have that feature. Or I'm just to dense to figure it out.

So you'll have to settle with just the English translation while you listen to the Italian. Capisce?

(Oh yeah, and the music video is kinda purdy. :)
I'm here
Look at me
Me with you, I feel that
There's no other way that isn't ours
It's a breath with no ending

I'll be there if you want
If you'll be in danger
I'll protect you
From the evil you'll witness
I'll be there for you

I'm here
Live me
Every day
Until the end

I am a rather hopeless romantic I think. These lyrics are such a perfect description of marriage to me. I love how this song is kind of a 'no matter what, we're going to get through it together' sort of thing.

There's never another way
That is not ours
The emotion between us
Has no end

I'll be there if you want
If you'll be in danger
I'll protect you
From the evil you'll witness
I'll be there for you

To defend your mistakes
Don't let the world change you
No, I'll fight for you
No, I'll be there for you

I'm here, I'll be there

I'll be there if you want
You'll see it will be beautiful
I'll protect you
From the evil you'll witness
I'll be there for you
I'm here
Live me

So yeah. This song gives me all the feels. All dem. On my more emotional days, I may or may not get a bit teary. (Though I've been known to get teary over lots of things, including lame motivational quotes so... )

Was this post a bit sappy? Well yes, yes it was. But I don't care!

Let me know what you think. Love it? Hate it? Come on! Talk music with me!

God Bless,
Amy

Lavender's Blue

Hi, All!

I slipped this one in under the wire! All thanks to my bestest sister, Bella, because she can create videos in record time.
And I keep pushing her to break her last record. I think she sort of hates me sometimes. ;)

Anyway, way back when Cinderella first came out I thought about how fun it would be to do a cover of Lavender's Blue.  There was just something about the tune that I really liked and it was stuck in my head for ages.
This one I wanted to do my own backup. I didn't want karaoke. I wanted it to be me.

So, this is not one of the best video's I've ever created, but I probably put the most work into it.
It was fun and 'let-me-pull-my-hair-out' frustrating at the same time. Recording is such a complicated thing and nothing went right the first time with this song.

Well...let me know what you think! I still can't decide how I feel about it. I have a love-hate relationship with most of the music I share. *grin*

God Bless!

Cover Song for July...Among other things.

Hello Everyone!

So, remember way back when I mentioned taking a class on hand-to-hand combat and knife fighting? Well, that time has come!

*Flails*

One of my sisters, a friend of the family, and my good self are going to leaving Friday and we'll be gone for almost a week.

I'm thrilled. And Terrified.

I've also set about compiling a road trip playlist. Because that's how I roll. (See what I did there?) Music makes the world go 'round. And it keeps me from going stir crazy during 7 hours in the car. Bonus.

So. That's my big news!

I'm going to try to take pictures, but I don't know how much time I'll have for that sort of thing. ;)

Anyway.

Life's been pretty good 'round here. The weather's lovely and I've just been enjoying summery things. Like spending evenings at my family's house, playing catch with my sisters.

Reading.
I have been able to do some reading! *Cheers*
I was thinking about telling you what I've been reading, but I might save that for a post of its own.

I went and saw Ant Man.
That movie was so good!
I was fully expecting to enjoy it, but I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. It was just fun. It had lots of silly bits, and great dialog and not a ton of scary stuff.
If you go to watch it, stay till the very end. The VERY end.

I also went and saw Jurassic World, which was better than I was expecting. Chris Pratt did a really great job with his roll and they pulled of the plot pretty dang well. But It's still a dinosaur movie ...

And that's about all the news I've got for now. Except for the new song this month. It was actually Treskie that talked me into doing this one. I was having a lot of trouble choosing a song and feeling a bit overwhelmed and very strapped for time.

Treskie was like, "Hey, listen to this song," Which I did.

And then she was like, "We should do this song.Together. For the channel."

At which I pointed out I didn't know the song.

To which she snorted and said, "It's not hard to learn. Don't be a baby."

So here we are.

I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to sing this one and I really enjoyed recording with Treskie. She was right, it was pretty easy to learn and we had a good time singing together. I think it made the recording process easier for me. Which was very nice.

Still, I'm pretty shy about this one, so let me know what you think and if you liked it. I'm totally open to all sorts of feedback and I promise I won't bite your head off if you didn't like it. ;)

I might give you a paper cut and pour some lemon juice in it, but that's about it.

Thank you guys for stopping by! Talk to you all really soon. Probably.

God Bless,
Amy

Song of the Month

Hey there, Peoples!

I was listening to my music and it occurred to me that it's been ages since I've posted a song. I'm going to skip over the fact that it's sort of been ages since I've posted anything at all worth mentioning.

I bought Josh Groban's Stages CD way back at the beginning of May when it first came out. It was the day after my best friend's wedding and I bought it as my consolation prize and so I had something new to listen to on the eight hour drive home.

Anyway, it's a brilliant album, and it's impossible for me to pick a favorite track. He does my favorite-ever version of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. He does a lovely version of Children will Listen from Into the Woods. He does Try to Remember from...I can't remember what that one's from. But it's gorgeous!
He does freakin' Empty Chairs at Empty Tables! *Heavy breathing*

Basically, the album is gold.

This is a song I'd never heard  before and for some reason which I really can't figure out, I love it. It's sad!

When I left I was leaving with a brother
Him and me, all we had was one and other
We were young, it was springtime
And our dreams of gold were grand
Oh, Kristina, gold can turn to sand

I mean, you can tell right there that this thing isn't going to have a happy ending! And it doesn't. It's sad.

Go on! Hear for yourself.

Yeah, so you know...enjoy!

God Bless,
Amy

"It's a bird! It's a plane!....No! It's a blog post!"

Hello everyone!

It is June.

JUNE!!

*Laughs maniacally*

I have lost the handle I used to think I had on my life.

I. Can. Not. Get. Organized. To. Save. My. Life.

The longer I've been away from blogging, the harder it's been for me to write again. I've opened my laptop a couple times with the best intentions in the world and just sat there like:

After Memorial Day slipped by and June slapped me over the face a few times, I was like, "Right! Time to get back on the proverbial bike and...and...Ride it,dang it!"

So here I sit.

(Side note. It's rather disturbing to be gone from your blog so long that you actually forget what it looks like.I just sat there like, "When did I make it blue?...That will have to change....What on earth did I do to the formatting? That will also have to change..." Awkward.)

And the best thing to do, it would seem, is to sort of fill you on on what's been going on in my life. Not to worry, it wont take all that long. *Sneer*

In order of awesomeness:

Number One:

I am taking the singing class at the college this quarter! *Dances*
There's an issue with how many times a person can sign up for the same class and I had definitely maxed out on my repeat-ability...
But the teacher was offering the class at a time that I could get to without having to make adjustments to my work schedule... and some of my other sisters were enrolled so I thought, "What the heck, I might as well try to sign up"
Mysteriously, I signed up without a hiccup! It was like a fabulous little miracle, all wrapped in tissue paper with a giant bow on top!

Two words; Private Lessons.

Also, solos. It's been forever since I've had the chance to perform and I'm very, very rusty. *Snarls*
(I'm toying with the idea of posting my class solo, as bad of quality as it will probably be...what do you all think?)

So yes. That's my number one big deal.

Number Two:

I bit the bullet and bought a guitar! *More dancing*

Meet Murdock. He is fabulous and has a full, rich voice. He is the bomb-diggety!

In case you're wondering, no, I can't really play the poor dear yet. I want to. I practice. I get frustrated and eyeball my fingers accusingly.
"Oh evil fingers! You betrayed me! Bend, dang it! BEND!"
Then I usually end up putting on my gloves and hitting the punching bag for a while.

Perhaps I exaggerate.

I love to  make noise on the beautiful contraption, and my sister is surprisingly patient with me. I'm pretty much like this:

Watch the video. Do it. Click it. PLAY IT!

Happily, I have found a channel on youtube that seems like it's going to be very helpful in my learning. The fellow is really easy to watch and he explain things really well and...he reminds me of a goofy Rory Williams. Seriously.

Similar, yes?

Number Three:

This one is futuristic, but I'm excited about it so it makes the list. So there.

I'm (hopefully) taking a hand-to-hand combat class and a knife fighting class in August this year!

IT'S TERRIFYING AND WONDERFUL! I'll get to HIT things!

I'm still working out the details. I'm actually a timid little thing and don't want to go without a sister...or a friend....or an acquaintance. Somebody...

BUT HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT!

Number four:

I am almost done with my floral design course and if all goes well, I will find  myself with a pay raise. *Pulls out the ahooga horn*
That will be glorious! That will be fa-hab-u-lous!

Three things. That's the extent of my news in three months.

Could be worse.

As far as my hopes and dreams for this blog in the future, it's vague still, it's very Hit and Miss (see what I did there) and it's still a work in progress.

But I'm planning on a post a week. That's my goal. I have goals. *Pats self on back*

Now I'm shall leave you with a song. Because that's what I feel like doing. Ha.

I don't know what it is lately, but this song has been my thing. It's my, "I'm off work, time to turn up the music and head home, singing at the top of my lungs," song.

It is so much 'the thing' right now that I wrote out some of my favorite lyrics. 'Cause I do that.

Now shush, and listen.

God Bless and I'll be back again really soon!

Memorial Day --Song of the Month!

Hi there, everyone and Happy....Happy? Do you wish people a Happy Memorial Day?

So...

I have a song!

I've wanted to do a lyric version of Taps for quite a long time and I finally pulled it together!
Actually, my sisters and I finally pulled it together.
By the seat of our pants.
We like to wait til the last possible moment to do stuff.

Big thanks to Christina (or Tiny) for playing her little lips off so we could get the perfect trumpet take. Especially because we managed to sing it in a key that was almost impossible for trumpet. ;)

And big thanks to Bella for doing the video stuff in like...two hours. You're the bomb-diggety and I promise I will (try to) give you at least 24 hours in the future!

God Bless!

I'm Not that Girl--Cover Song

So it's Thursday and not Wednesday like I hoped. But it's still April and I still managed to squeeze in my cover song for the month.

You may applaud any time.

I'm in the midst of helping my bestie get ready for her wedding, *Gaaaah!* This includes doing all the flowers for the wedding, with the help of two of my sisters.
It's awesome and a little bit scary.

Weddings are wonderful, exciting, slightly bitter-sweet things.

Now if I can make it down the isle in a cute but wobbly pair of heals without tripping or sliding, that will just make everything great.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, enjoy the song and I'll see you 'round later!

God Bless,
Amy

Arms--Cover song

Hello, Peoples!

I'm back momentarily to post my song for the month! *La-la-la, La-la-la!*

Technically, it's not my song. Treskie recorded a song and I did the editing for it.

She's adorable and the song is lovely so give it a listen!

I recorded a song as well and (cross you fingers) I hope to get it uploaded on Wednesday.

Two songs in one month! Not too shabby!

Never mind the fact that I'm running a little late...

Life happens.

Right, Without further ado, Arms.

I have a wedding to head to this week and after that I plan to start blogging again. I'm feeling pretty creative right now, so here's hoping that my blog will be new and exciting in the future!

Thank you all for stopping by. Enjoy!

God Bless,
Amy

Song of the week

Hello all.

I have COME!

So.

What now?

Okay, fine. I'm trying to organize my thoughts into some semblance of order. And failing.

Movies, blog stuff, music stuff, cooking stuff...Where to start?

I'm going to use the good ol' numbering system. See how things go from there.

1.) I have become sucked into the world of Agent Carter over this last week.

I regret nothing!
Honestly, I had my reservations about the show. I mean, Peggy is the cutest person ever. She and Steve were perfect.

I was worried that they'd ruin her. I was afraid she'd turn into a "I don't need no man." sort of person. I was afraid the show would be way over the top.

But...It's NOT!

It's gloriously post WWII,

You get a lovely mix of espionage, character development, and fights. Really good fights!*Cheers*
Red fingernails, the cutest clothes ever, awesome script, awesome acting...and to top it all off, fedoras! (See what I did there?)

Jarvis. I had no idea I would love him! His little face! His adorableness! *Dies*

*Ahem* It's (so far) a delightful show. I am enjoying it hugely. Thank you Marvel.  You are so very good to your fans! You deserve a medal for all your good work. (Joss Weden, please be kind! No killing of my favorite people, okay? Leave Jarvis alone!)

2.) After all the fabulous 1950's fashion, I had to paint my nails red. It was an absolute necessity.
It lasted the grand total of one day. *Le sigh*
If any of you have tips on how to get fingernail polish not to chip, I'd be all ears!

3.) I have recently started watching Kitchen Nightmares.

It was a whim one evening. I didn't realize it would be an addicting type of show. I really like Gordan Ramsey. He's a very sweet fellow, once you get passed the swearing. (There's quite a lot of swearing. Enough that I wouldn't actually recommend it to anyone. So...view with your own discretion. You've been warned!:)

Anyway, with all the cooking and whatnot I was in a mood, So today, being my day off, I spent a goodly portion of it in the kitchen. It was a blast!

I made a lovely Italian dish...A chicken ragu with gnocchi, to be exact. I needed to make gnocchi. I just watched Unbroken a few days ago (Unbelievable! It was an amazing movie!) and there is a fair amount of talk about gnocchi. It preyed on my mind. So I made some! And it turned out so nicely! There's nothing quite like the feeling of having your meal turn out the way you wanted it to!

I'm not proud or anything, just...
It was pretty fab.

And since I love being in the kitchen, I made Biscotti for later on this evening.
Italians have the best food, you guys. :)

4.) My blog needs a new name, I think. I started this place back in...2011!? Gosh.
Anyway, I feel like the name isn't really me anymore. Or it is, but not the way it comes off. Does that make sense?
I don't think it fits the blog.
So! I'm going to toss out a few new titles and see which one you guys like best. And please feel free to suggest some new titles as well. I love feedback!

Idea number one: Beneath the Surface.
Just cause it sounds cool.

Number two: Music, Magic and Mice
It's catchy?

Number three: Sing as if no one is listening.
Sort of pretty, right?

Number four: Raindrops keep falling on my head.
That is sort of a 'me' song.

This is hard. No wonder I haven't changed it yet! Golly dang! What is my blog type?

Ah, got it!

Number five. Hit and miss.
That describes pretty much every hobby and endeavor in my life! Including my posting! Hahaha.

Tell me which one you like, or suggest a new one! DO IT!

Okay.

Now for a song, shall we? Just so I don't have to think up a different title for this post. *Grin*

I'm too tired and in too much of a hurry to post the lyrics. But this is a really awesome song, so you should take a moment and listen, okay?

That's all for now, peoples!

God Bless,
Amy

Resolution-y stuff.

Hi there, everyone!

So, 2014 is dead and gone.

*Ponders this*

It went by fast! I'm still a little stunned that we're living 2015 already. Golly dang!

I had a lot of hopes for 2014 and some of them came true and some of them didn't. Just like any year. There was a whole lot of good stuff, though, which I'm so very grateful for. And there was some hard stuff which I got through. And I'm grateful for that too.

I'm actually really excited for 2015!

Source

I named 2014 Harry last year.

This year is Floyd. Perhaps Floyd will be amazing. Here's hoping!

It's that 'resolutions' time of year. Resolutions are the best thing ever...in theory. But it's so hard to fulfill them! Or is that just me?

Anyway, this year I'm going to try just setting some goals (maybe if I don't call them resolutions they'll be easier to do,) and see how much happens over this squeeky-clean, new year.

I would dearly love to play guitar. But I don't. And why the heck not?! I don't know.

This year I want to learn, dang it!

Hand in hand with that, I want to compose my own music. It's been a goal of mine for...ages. And again, I don't.

This year I will! Dang it! I will!
At least one song. How hard could it be? (That comment is going to haunt me later. I just know it!:)

In fact, a lot of my goals for this year are music related. They usually are and that's saying something, isn't it. *Nods*

Now, I'm off to face the world.
2015, here I come! (Please be nice, okay? Like...really nice.)

Three cheers for the new year! *Hoot. Hoot. Hoot!*

Song of the Week.

Hello, All!

IT'S ONLY A WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

To commemorate how freakin' exciting this is, I am going to post a song............

I suppose you probably guessed that from the title of the post.

It was fairly obvious.

*Shrug*

This song has been a lot more a favorite of mine this year than it's been before. Isn't it funny how you can know a song for ages, and then suddenly you relate to it more, or for whatever reason you appreciate it more, and then it's like hearing it for the first time. I love that about music. It always manages to grow up with you.

It's not a super Christmas-y song, I suppose. It's pretty much a sadder, prettier version of I'll be Home for Chrismtas. It makes me feel all nostalgic and fluttery inside. Happy and sad, you know what I mean?

~All With You~
On the wind the snow is drifting
Dances 'round my weary feet
Faraway a bell is ringing
Echoes through the empty streets
Oh, I can see you
I can still play make believe
Oh, I can feel you near me
I'll be sending a thousand kisses
I am far but I am all with you

On the night the air is bracing
Lights are gracing every street
I can hear the children singing
Midnight bringing hopes of peace

Oh, I can see you
I can still play make believe
Oh, I can feel you near me

I'll be sending you a thousand kisses
I am far but I am all with
I'll be sending a thousand wishes
Know on Christmas I am all with you

I'll be sending you a thousand kisses
I am far but I am all with
I'll be sending a thousand wishes

Know on Christmas I am all with you.

Well, there's that. Isn't it pretty?

God Bless!

Song of the Week

There has to be a way to make Tuesdays less "Only Tuesday-ish." I mean, at least Wednesdays are the "we're halfway through the week" days. But Tuesday is only Tuesday. *Sigh*

Anyway. Here we are.

And it's cold.

Squinting hard at the dark, brooding clouds outside though, I believe we might get some rain. Which is actually a silver lining because we have so much pollen right now. It is icky. The air is green.

What with the clouds and the cold and the smell of rain, this song just seems the logical choice.
I love this song. It's one that my Daddy listened to a lot when I was little. It just reminds me a lot of those days.

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again

The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart

Rain, please tell me now does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can't love another when my heart's somewhere far away

The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart

Rain, won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we knew start to grow

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again

Do any of you like some of the oldies songs? I'm rather picky with them, but the ones I do like, I really like. I'm not sure if it's just the memories attached to them or the actual music.

I'm thinking about doing an Oldies Song of the Week for a little while. Just till I'm out of my favorite oldies. :) Switch things up a bit.

Yes or no?

God Bless!

Song of the week

Hi there, everyone! *Waves cheerily*

The special for tonight: Everything I do.

I love this song. It's a perfect in-the-car-with-the-windows-down song.

Disclaimer number one: The guy has a weird sort of voice, kind of rough and husky. So don't be surprised when you click play. Just go with it. List to the words. Preferably with your eyes closes, cause we all know that makes the music so much better, right?

Disclaimer number two: Yes I am aware this song came out in in the nineties and is as old as I am... a few months older, actually. I bet most of you have heard it before. If not you are even more behind the times (and I mean way behind the times) than I am.

Disclaimer number three: I'm very tired, and even though this is a really skimpy post, it's all I've got for you tonight. Deal with it. ;)

Look into my eyes – you will see
What you mean to me.
Search your heart, search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more.

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for.
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for.
You know it's true:
Everything I do, I do it for you.

Look into your heart – you will find
There's nothin' there to hide.
Take me as I am, take my life.
I would give it all, I would sacrifice.

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it, there's nothin' I want more
You know it's true:
Everything I do, I do it for you, oh, yeah.

Yeah, I would fight for you, I'd lie for you,
Walk the wire for you, yeah, I'd die for you.

You know it's true:
Everything I do, oh, I do it for you.

Good night! I'll see you 'round~

God Bless

Song of the Week.

For some reason I'm in a bit of a boxer/fighter mood lately. This happens to me sometimes.
I just want to watch really good action movies with lots of awesome fighting scenes and play with my heavy bag until my arms are ready to fall off.
(I know it's not the most feminine thing in the world, but it's fantastic for relieving stress. *Nods knowingly*)

Anyway, I have literally been singing the last verse of this song all day long. It's my favorite part of the whole song.

The Boxer is one of those songs that I only listen to sometimes, (though it comes on at my work pretty frequently) and it reminds me of...well, fighters mostly. Go figure.
And since I'm in that mood, I went through and found all my favorite fighters and put them to the song.

I don't usually do post that are this graphically intensive. I apologize in advance for how long this might take to load. *wink*

So, press play and scroll, okay?

~The Boxer~
I am just a poor boy
Though my story seldom told

I squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears
What he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

When I left my home and my family
I was no more than a boy
In the company of strangers
In the quiet of the railway stations running scared

Laying low seeking out the poor quarters
Where the ragged people go
Looking for the places
Only they would know

Asking only workman's wages
I come looking for a job
But I get no offers

Just a come on
From the girl on seventh avenue
I do declare there were times
When I was so lonesome
I took some comfort there

Then I'm laying down my winter clothes

And wishing I was home-- going home

Where the New York City winters
Aren't bleeding me, leading me going home

In the clearing stands a boxer
Source

And a fighter by his trade

And he carries the reminder of every glove that laid him down

And cut him till he cried out in his anger and his shame

I am leaving I am leaving but the fighter still remains

I hope you guys enjoyed that. If not, I totally did, and since it's my blog, that's the important thing, right? *Grin*

Goodnight, and God Bless!

So many little things~

I'm in a bit of a hurry right now. Which, translated means, this post is going to be super short. *Grin* I just feel like a rotten blogger if I go longer than two weeks between posts, so here! My life in a nutshell.

1.) I'm getting ready for my audio class final. I've really enjoyed this class... much more than I thought I would! It's been fun and really interesting. Audio is very cool. I mean, look at the cool stuff I get to use!
Impressive, right?  ;)

2.) Today's St. Joseph's Day. So, you know.  Happy St. Joseph's Day!

3.) The weather has been absolutely lovely the last week or so. Spring is here! *Lala-laa, lala-laa!* I've been looking suspiciously at the area that I tried to garden in last year. I could have sworn all the seeds I used were annuals, but I seem to have some very brave and hardy pea shoots! No complaining here. I'd be so pleased to have peas again this year.

4.) This quote is just so dang awesome!

5.) I'm looking forward to, hopefully, watching Kate and Leopold tonight. If you haven't seen it you should. It's super cute. It's probably my favorite Hugh Jackman movie. He's pretty awesome in it.

6.) One of my sisters got my hooked on this song. It's catchy and happy sounding and it makes me want to go on an adventure. Don't ask why, I have no idea. And the lyrics are a bit...well, weird. But I love them! Right. Here you go.

Your mouth is a revolver
Firing bullets in the sky
Your love is like a soldier,
Loyal 'til you die
And I’ve been looking at the stars
For a long, long time
I’ve been putting out fires
All my life

Everybody wants a flame,
They don’t want to get burnt
And today is our turn

Days like these lead to...
Nights like this lead to
Love like ours.
You light the spark in my bonfire heart.
People like us—we don’t
Need that much, just some-
One that starts,
Starts the spark in our bonfire hearts

This world is getting colder.
Strangers passing by
No one offers you a shoulder.
No one looks you in the eye.
But I’ve been looking at you
For a long, long time
Just trying to break through,
Trying to make you mine

Everybody wants a flame,
They don’t want to get burnt
Well, today is our turn

Thank you all for stopping by! Now I need to go run those errands. *Eyeballs stack of overdue library books mournfully.*

God Bless!
