Belated Saturday Style~

Good to my word, as always! *Snicker* Le Saturday style on Sunday as promised. ;)

I've done a 'double bun' updo before but I saw this picture...

And well. I decided to sort of copy it.

This might be one of the most confusing tutorials I've ever done.   But don't let me be the judge of that. Grab a brush, some hairpins and a scarf and find out for yourself! You know you want to.

So you're going to take the top half of your hair and tie it into a high knot. Like so;

1.) Take the top half of your hair and wrap it around your hand.
2.) Twist your hand down, creating a loop.

3.) Take hair and pull it through the loop.
4.) Pull it tight-ish and get the knot positioned where you want it.
5.) Twist the tail and wrap it around.

6.) Pin in place. Since it's in a knot, it stays up almost by itself.
7.) Now you repeat all the above steps with the bottom section of hair. Make sure to keep it as close to the other knot as you can. They look better that way.

And just finish by tying the scarf of your choice around your head.

Voila!

If the whole knot thing is just way to confusing, do two normal little buns and don't worry about tying your hair up. It works pretty much the same way. If you have shorter hair, the knots probably wont work anyway, and two little buns might be your best option.

This style is nice and cool feeling. It's good for those really hot summer days when you want your hair off your neck. ;)

I am very sorry if you were confused all the way through this post. I was actually confusing myself writing the tutorial. Not a great sign.
I'm thinking about trying to do vlog hairstyles...what do you all think? The only thing is, I might be even more confusing live! It is entirely possible.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Amy

Saturday Style...among other things

Happy Saturday, all you all!

Oh, and hello, my newest followers and welcome. I am so happy to have you! If you weren't an internet away I'd offer you coffee and chocolate...but since you are, we'll just have to pretend.

I went all-out and did a cappuccino. *Smile*

So... I was going to do a movie review.

And then I considered doing a book review.

But I just wasn't up to either of those things and I decided to do a picture-inundated post instead.

Give me some slack, I was busy cleaning and reading! It's Saturday. ;)

Saturday Style

I wore my hair 'Heidi style' today. I don't do it very often, and I'm not sure why. It's comfortable, and cute. Even if I do say so myself! Lol.

I didn't bother doing a tutorial for this one. It's pretty simple. Just put your hair in two braids and, if you're hair is long enough, wrap each braid all the way around your head and pin in place. If your hair is shorter, just wrap the braids over the top of your head. Add flowers if you want to. Flowers are the best hair accessory! I love flowers.

Speaking of flowers...
It is officially SPRING now.

The weather has been so beautiful here this last week. I love being able to throw open the windows  and have that wonderfully clean air come pouring in!

After all my cleaning, I had a little tea party outside.

I got a Easter package in the mail from my best friend.

Isn't that scarf lovely? I can't wait to wear it. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the necklace is a wonderfully dark blue. Blue and orange really compliment each other. And I now have a perfect little book-box. It was a very nice pressy, don't you think? It certainly made my day.

That's it for now, but I do have some fun post planned for next week and I will hopefully produce something a little more substantial. But for now I'll just leave you with a song.

Check it out...there is water on the stage. How cool is that?

God Bless!

Saturday Style~

I was thinking, it's been months since I did a Saturday Style post and I thought, "What-ho! I think I'll pull it together and do one today." :)

I'm going to afore warn you that the pictures are not the greatest quality, but I think they're good enough for you to get the general idea.

So, first, just divide your hair in half and do two french braids.

Then your going to take one of your braids and pull it across to the other side...

Now, gently tuck the end up under the other side.

Find the end with your other hand and pull it through.

Now, use the leftover bit for a bun.

Then do the same thing with the other side.

And that's that!

I didn't use a mirror at all and my buns turned a bit lopsided. I was in a bit of a hurry. ;p

Oh well.

It was a really cold day today. Like, really cold. Wind can be a cruel thing. But I had this grand idea of going to the lake and taking a few pictures. I can't decide if it was a a good idea, or a really bad idea. The wind coming off that water was un-bee-lievable. *Shivers*

And being the clever person I am, I thought, "What a good time to take a few photo-shoot pictures. Hang on, let me take off my coat so I look better."

Can anyone spell pneumonia?
Still, I was a really beautiful setting for some pictures. *Cough, cough, sneeze.*

Something I like about this hairstyle is, I can wear hats with it. I love my little red beret. It's my 'Lebeau hat.' Brownie points if you get that. *wink.*

And since I was freezing a little by this point, I threw on the shawl my Mummy made for me.
(My arms froze this way.)

And then I went home and made muffins for tomorrow. They turned out quite nicely.
Almond poppy seed! Yum.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone!

Saturday Style

Two knots pined in place. Easy as that. I love the way it looks. :)

I just liked these pictures. I think they look kinda fairy tale-ish. Alice in Wonderland?

Alright. Here are some doodles I did. (Why is it that the best doodles are inevitably on lined paper?) I just thought this girl was cute.

And This one needs broader shoulders but I still like the over-all effect. (Ssshh, don't look now, but I tend to draw all my people gazing off the same way. Hehe.)

This one I love. I know it's rough and very doodle-y but I think she looks cool. I actually drew her with one of my story characters in mind and she just about fits the bill. I am very fond of her. She looks in a almighty hurry, doesn't she? Or at least, very determined about something. Maybe one day I'll find out why that is.

I recently discovered this song and I'm a bit addicted to it right now. I think the lyrics are so pretty. They hit home. (A pun you will get after listening to the song. lol.)

Saturday Style

Well, it's nothing fancy, but I had my hair trimmed last night and it looked pretty today so I left it down. When I say trimmed, I mean about an inch of hair...maybe. I like to get my hair trimmed fairly often. But tiny, tiny clips at a time. That way the ends stay healthy and I don't have to suffer the feeling of extreme loss. :) Most people don't believe me, but I honesty can see and feel the difference even when I only lose an inch of hair. I am very in-tune with my hair. It's sorta pathetic, really. Anyhow, never mind..

What I did, was simply do two french braids on the top and then braid them all the way down. And when I want the hair to stay back, I just slip on my handy-dandy flexi-8 clip.

I love flexi-8's. I have a wee collection of my very own ranging in size from 'mega' to 'x-small.' I'll show you them all some time. They are the only hair accessories I own that I simply can't seem to break! LOL. They are very awesome.

I like wearing my hair down sometimes. It makes me feel like this.
Or maybe this.
And sometimes even like this.

There's nothing like looking at pictures of the ladies from Lord of the Rings to make you decide that long hair is the best. LOL.

And for a touch of randomness. Because I really like randomness. Here are a few quotes from G.K. Chesterton.

"Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."

"Religious liberty might be supposed to mean that everybody is free to discuss religion. In practice it means that hardly anybody is allowed to mention it."

"It (Feminism) is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employer but slaves when they help their husbands."

G.K. Chesterton was a very clever man. :)

And a thought for the night. Does a insomniac, dyslexic atheist lay awake at night wondering if there is a Dog?

Oh.  I really love this song. I think it's my favorite Taylor Swift music video. It's so cute! And I always, always tear up at the end. *Sniff.*

God Bless!
