Saturday Style~

Happy Saturday all you all! Here you go: the double bun updo. I  really like this one, (heck, I really like all the styles I do my hair in or I wouldn't do them!) and I find it stays in very nicely all day long. Here are the instructions.   There's a video tutorial as well as just pictures so you should be able to get this with no problems. :)
I am trying to think up so unusual/totally awesome hairstyles to show you in the future. The 'future' here meaning, when my life has slowed back down to a normal craziness. I have had a very busy summer and my creativity has been shoved ruthlessly to the side.  *Cough*

I've been reading this series of book called, "Don Camillo." I am loving
them so much! They're about a little village priest in Italy after WWII as he stands firm against Communism. The communistic mayor, Peppone, more specifically.
The priest has such delightful conversations with Our Lord...
Like this one part when Don Camillo feels like he's being 'watched' by someone and it's beginning to make him nervous. He tells Christ that he wish he knew whose eyes were watching him.
'"Never mind," Christ advised him, "Eyes never did anyone any harm."
"But it would be nice to know whether those two eyes are going about alone or accompanied by a third, for instance one of 9 caliber," sighed Don Camillo. "That is a detail not without its own importance."
"Nothing can defeat a good conscience, Don Camillo."
"I know, Lord," sighed Don Camillo once more, "but the trouble is that people don't usually fire at a conscience but between the shoulders."'

It sounds silly but reading this little stories has been really good for me. It's helped to remember that Our Lord can and should be talked to...really talked to! I totally recommend these books. :)

Alright, that's all I've got tonight!
God Bless.

Saturday Style

Well, it's nothing fancy, but I had my hair trimmed last night and it looked pretty today so I left it down. When I say trimmed, I mean about an inch of hair...maybe. I like to get my hair trimmed fairly often. But tiny, tiny clips at a time. That way the ends stay healthy and I don't have to suffer the feeling of extreme loss. :) Most people don't believe me, but I honesty can see and feel the difference even when I only lose an inch of hair. I am very in-tune with my hair. It's sorta pathetic, really. Anyhow, never mind..

What I did, was simply do two french braids on the top and then braid them all the way down. And when I want the hair to stay back, I just slip on my handy-dandy flexi-8 clip.

I love flexi-8's. I have a wee collection of my very own ranging in size from 'mega' to 'x-small.' I'll show you them all some time. They are the only hair accessories I own that I simply can't seem to break! LOL. They are very awesome.

I like wearing my hair down sometimes. It makes me feel like this.
Or maybe this.
And sometimes even like this.

There's nothing like looking at pictures of the ladies from Lord of the Rings to make you decide that long hair is the best. LOL.

And for a touch of randomness. Because I really like randomness. Here are a few quotes from G.K. Chesterton.

"Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."

"Religious liberty might be supposed to mean that everybody is free to discuss religion. In practice it means that hardly anybody is allowed to mention it."

"It (Feminism) is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employer but slaves when they help their husbands."

G.K. Chesterton was a very clever man. :)

And a thought for the night. Does a insomniac, dyslexic atheist lay awake at night wondering if there is a Dog?

Oh.  I really love this song. I think it's my favorite Taylor Swift music video. It's so cute! And I always, always tear up at the end. *Sniff.*

God Bless!

On wilderness first aid and Aaron Cross...and biscotti

And once again here I am apologizing for not posting. ;-p And I really am sorry for not posting my 'Saturday Style', though honestly, it wasn't anything special. I'm taking a Wilderness First Aid class, (Mainly because it's the only class I can find where I live that offers certification in CPR and first aide! *Sigh*) and I looked pretty... casual. To put it kindly. Doing 8-5 days all weekend, Friday-Sunday, didn't exactly put me in the mood for posting anyway. I am going to whine a little and say that Wilderness first aid is harder than Urban  first aid. And I'm tired! LOL. Anyway, tomorrow is my final test and I'll be done.

Amen.

*Fingers crossed that I do really well.* (I should be studding this very moment...but I'm not.)
Moving on. Here I am for a moment. <3 I had to come on and say 'hello' to all you all. And assure you that I will have a hairstyle post for the coming Saturday. Promise! I never break the italicized promise. Hehehe.

                                         Moving onto the 'Bourne' font.
I am at the moment a tiny bit (okay, not so tiny) into this movie.

I will say it isn't as good as the original Bourne Trilogy...but it's still pretty freakin' awesome! *Happy Sigh*
                     "Wait for iiiiiit!"

He likes his gun.

But he doesn't need it.
Because he's awesome.
(Note to self. Buy black leather jacket.)

~Right now I'm really in the mood for this~
It's raining here and a cappuccino and biscotti sounds wonderful.

I'm really looking forward to a big ol' BBQ we're having at our house on Sunday. We are having guests. Fun  guests. And food. So. Much. Food. It will be epic. Trust me.

That's all for now. Gute Nacht! (Good night... Duh.:-)
God Bless. Gott segnen.

Here's a Jason Bourne song. I'm in the mood. You know how it is.

Saturday Style

Isn't that a fun title? I decided I like it. :-) And I've further decided that it's going to be a re-occurring thing. I'm planning on doing mostly hairstyles because that seems to be where I get a lot of traffic on my little ol' blog. :-)
So, without further ado, here is my Saturday Style!
I got my inspiration from Sarah at http://ibraidhair.wordpress.com/2012/01/07/maiden-braids/ The instructions for this style are there. :) So please go check it out.
It's pretty easy to do. I just made a little twist bun before I did the 'messy hair' part because my hair is too long to just pin like the original style does. Mine looked like this.
I didn't make a 'knot' like I do in my messy bun tutorial. I sort of twisted my hair into the first part of a bun and stopped with that bit left over sticking up at the top. I hope that made sense!
Anyway, I think this look is pretty and fun. It distributes the weight of my hair really well so it has the bonus of being a very comfortable style. That's always a good thing.

I should have pinned my bun up a little higher but oh well. (I can't say enough about how fun flowers in the hair are!)
Cheers, everyone. :)
God Bless!
