It's the first week of Advent! 

So.....

Blogging.....

Or the lack thereof.......


Oh well. I'm a rotten blogger these days and I'm really not sure how to remedy that. Other than to start blogging more regularly again....*Snicker.* Let's not get too carried away!

I read these blogs where people actually plan their posts and put some serious though into what they want to say and I'm totally impressed by them.

Me, on the other hand. Well, that's a different story.

Take today for example. I have half and hour to whip up some sort of post. Yep. Half and hour to let my brilliance ooze forth.

*Sigh*

Basically, I'm just popping by to post a song and then I have to head out to do things.

Right so, first week of advent, I am going to post an advent  song. I've undoubtedly posted it before but I don't care. It's my blog and all that. I shall post what I want. 

This is probably my favorite version of O come Emmanuel. I love how strong and wild it sounds, especially when it crescendos. Ah-maz-ing!

I have a list of posts I want to do over this upcoming month. For real! And I'm hoping to take much better care of my blog. At least for the month of December. 

Because Christmas stuff is the bomb-diggety!

And I have a tag I need to do.

So I should be around here a lot more. Here's hoping, anyway.

It's 15 days till Christmas! *La-lala-lala!* Which is basically just two weeks! *Gaaaah!* Just thinking about it makes me so happy! Hence the Christmas-y pictures and this song. :)

Anyway. In the Bleak Midwinter is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I was just in the mood to post something so here you go. Seriously, who doesn't like Julie Andrews voice? 

And I found this quote by Fulton J. Sheen and I think it's just beautiful. 

"Why is the human heart shaped as it is?
The human heart is not shaped like a valentine heart, perfect and regular in contour; it is slightly irregular in shape as if a small piece of it were missing out of its side. Thanksgiving, Advent and me just being me.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. All my American followers, that is. :) All you that don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope your Thursday was pleasant all the same.

Thanksgiving is just a fun, cozy sort of holiday. I mean, food, music, family, (not necessarily in that order) make for a very enjoyable day. Here's a little peek at our day.

No. We weren't even having a funny face competition.

We just do it by accident. And capture it forever on film.

And then I blog about it.

And then the clean-up. 

Because "all magic comes with a price. "

We actually have a pretty good time, even with clean-up. We're all fed and happy and usually we start singing. Loudly and passionately. We are Italian. :) Plus, once we finish cleaning, there's dessert, coffee, and a movie so we are properly motivated. 

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. I always love Advent. Now I feel like I can start really looking forward to Christmas! I try to hold off on the whole Christmas music thing until St. Nicholas' feast day on December 6th. But usually a few Christmas songs sneak their way in before that.

I might do some of this challenge.

Don't worry. I'm not going to make you look at my photography every day again. I'm just going to use the list to get some picture ideas. Some of them are pretty fun. The good pictures I might post. We'll see. 

I'm in a really happy mood today. You know when you just feel completely happy inside for no apparent reason? The whole world is beautiful you love everybody? That's me right now.

And one last thing. I really wish season 7 of Psych would make it to netflix already! I want to watch those again quite a lot. A lot, a lot.
I don't know if any of you are Psych fans.  (Well, I don know a few of you are.) but season eight is doing something epic.

I guess it's nice to have something to look forward to.
I'm going to have to wait a long time.

It's the season...

I have decided, I'd really love to have a room with secret door. Let's make it my future library...sounds like a plan. I mean, after I get my obstacle course up and going, obviously. Or maybe before. Hmmmm. 

                         Can you say, completely and totally awesome? 

*Sigh*

I can't believe how fast time is going by. It's already the 5th? Hang on, when did that happen? 20 days until Christmas? Shu-reeek! I've got to get crackin' if I'm going to get all my little Christmas plans together in time!

This is how I feel when the advent wreath comes out.

Christmas traditions are probably my favorite. And one that I've never done before and that I really love, is the tradition of putting a big candle in your window. It's to symbolize guidance to Our Lady and St. Joseph to your home! It's shows they are welcome as they look for shelter. I need to get a great big candle. :D

And to top everything off, tomorrow is St. Nicholas' feast day. St. Nicholas is one of my favorite saints. You can read about the feast day here.
