Randomness

Hello,Peoples!

Today's post is going to be pointless and random I fear.

I bought myself something silly. Something fabulously silly.

Say it with me: Gun Ice Tray

I was a bit hesitant because I didn't think they'd  come out of the tray in one piece.

But look! They totally do!

So silly and yet so fabulous!

HAPPY TUESDAY!!

Tuesdays are my day off, so they are therefore quite awesome. I love Tuesdays.

This has been a busy sort of week for me with a lot of uneventful life-y stuff. Like work.

Don't get me wrong, I actually really like my job. I get to make beautiful things, like this:

But  jobs do get in the way of crafts and cooking and reading and music. *sniffles*

I did have a wonderful jaunt to Barns and Noble with Treskie and Kat this weekend. Bookstores restore my sanity.

Yesterday on my way home from work I had to stop and get some pictures of the lake. It looked like a fairy tale! The Happy kind not involving wolves, witches, curses or death.

My family is in the midst of a Lord of the Rings marathon. *flails arms wildly*

We watched the first two Friday and Saturday night. Due to illness and vomiting, we had to postpone the third one till Wednesday.

But it's been wonderful! (Not the illness and vomiting part. The movies.) We haven't watched them in...golly...four years?!

The two youngest sisters have never seen them before which makes it extra special. And one of our friends had only ever seen snippets here and there. So she is also seeing them for the first time. She is becoming one of US! The ring: It's taken a hold of her! *grins gleefully* Happy to report she seems a tiny bit obsessed now. Our work here is done. I can't wait to see her reaction the The Return of the King!

Due to watching (and re-reading) LotR, I am in a full on "Daughter of Kings/Shield Maiden of Rohan" mood. Complete with wild hair and battle lust.

 OUT OF MY WAY,PEASANTS!

Regarding my new blog name. I'm still mulling over some ideas. I like Hit and Miss and I like Below the Surface.
But I'm an indecisive sort and change makes me nervous.

I'm off now. I've got a million and one things to do today and I need to get crackin' if I hope to get half of it done today.

So I'll leave you with this.

God Bless!

Lifey stuff

I hate it when I feel inspired to write a blog post and I'm all excited and feeling very creative and clever, only to open my laptop and have all my inspiration roar away laughing in a fast car.

But whatever. Who needs inspiration?

"Full fathoms five thy father lies.
I pushed him. I apologize."
........................

"Water, water everywhere.
The plumbing badly needs repair."

........................

"I bring fresh showers for thirsty flowers.
I've stood in the sun, with a hose, for hours."

........................

*Sighs sadly*

Here. Pictures.

There was a lovely day last week where I got off early (Amazing!) and decided not to waste my afternoon inside, so I picked up Treskie and we got coffee and sat by the water. It was gorgeous and fun and relaxing.

You want a little peek at how I spent most of my day off yesterday?

BOOM!

I'm proud to say, I think I'm getting the hang of my little studio set-up.

I've been having some issues with play-back stuff and it's been driving my crazy.
You know what you do when you're ready to throw a microphone at your computer?

You take a break and apply a wet-and-stick tattoo. Avengers, obviously.

And amazingly enough, I figured out the problem after that. So now it's my 'lucky tattoo' and I'm going to be sad to wash it off.

Speaking of Avengers.....

I don't know how many of you are into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, but I just watched the first two episodes of season two. Can I just say....

Fitz! Fiiiiiiitzt!!! Fitz?

What the heck?

Why must TV Shows be so nasty to the viewers?
But episode three is on IMDB today. So you can take a mad stab in the dark as to how I'm spending my evening.

Here's what I'm currently reading/attempting to read/skimming through.

The Centurion is a really good book which I would recommend wholeheartedly. I'm not quite through with it yet, but I'm fairly certain it's going to make me weep like a little baby.

It Can Be Done. I want to start reading a bit of poetry. I don't know why. Just a whim, I guess. But this seemed like a good place to start.

And  Boxing's Ten Commandments.

.......Enough said.

Cheers, and catch you all later. I have to skedaddle off to work now.

God Bless!

From the darkness, something emerges!

Hello, Peoples!

*Blows a thick layer of dust off the keyboard.*

It's so nice of you to drop by and visit me. I've been a jolly awful host lately. *Sweeps a pile of rubbish under the rug and sheepishly straightens up the blog.*

The story of my life....I work all daaay...I work all week ...and only rest on Sunday.
THE STORY OF MY LIIIIIIFE!

(I totally just sang that.)

So yes. I've been working an insane amount of hours lately--Like for the past three months. And I'm totally burnt out.

Tired.

Physically and mentally.

Hence me going all A.W.O.L on you. My creative juice dried up faster than a puddle in the sun. I'm just twiddling my thumbs over here, waiting for some rain.

Still, I don't want to completely abandon my blog and I decided to slap out a quick post before I crash on the couch and nap. ;) *Pats self on back*

I'm prioritizing.

So what's new with me? Almost nothing. And that's a fact.

I've honestly been too busy to have anything remotely interesting happen. I'm still sitting here going, "When did it become July? Why am I still not tan?"

So I'm going to just sum up my life in a few pictures. The slightly less sub-par moments are always captured on camera. Unlike the really awesome moments. Like Christmas or birthdays. In which case I'm usually having way to much fun to take any photos.

I drew that.

One of the best ways for me to unwind after work is to spend my evening sitting by the lake. Sunsets are the most soothing things ever! They make me feel so peaceful inside.

I live here, you guys!

The sum total of my 4th pictures.

My sisters and I took a picnic to the lake. A different lake than the above lake. It was glorious. We ate. We swam. We did our ancestors proud!

Today is Monday.  I totally didn't feel like going to work. I felt like getting coffee and muffins and reading. But I knew that wasn't going to happen. So off I went, bleary eyes and all. And Monday oozed ever so slowly by.
And then, something celestial happened. My freakin' awesome sister brought me a FRAPACCINO!  I can't even express how much better that made today.

One word. Caffeine.

My day was so much better after that.

I feel pretty good about myself! I blogged. Go me.

See you later.

God Bless
