So many little things~

I'm in a bit of a hurry right now. Which, translated means, this post is going to be super short. *Grin* I just feel like a rotten blogger if I go longer than two weeks between posts, so here! My life in a nutshell.

1.) I'm getting ready for my audio class final. I've really enjoyed this class... much more than I thought I would! It's been fun and really interesting. Audio is very cool. I mean, look at the cool stuff I get to use!
Impressive, right?  ;)

2.) Today's St. Joseph's Day. So, you know.  Happy St. Joseph's Day!

3.) The weather has been absolutely lovely the last week or so. Spring is here! *Lala-laa, lala-laa!* I've been looking suspiciously at the area that I tried to garden in last year. I could have sworn all the seeds I used were annuals, but I seem to have some very brave and hardy pea shoots! No complaining here. I'd be so pleased to have peas again this year.

4.) This quote is just so dang awesome!

5.) I'm looking forward to, hopefully, watching Kate and Leopold tonight. If you haven't seen it you should. It's super cute. It's probably my favorite Hugh Jackman movie. He's pretty awesome in it.

6.) One of my sisters got my hooked on this song. It's catchy and happy sounding and it makes me want to go on an adventure. Don't ask why, I have no idea. And the lyrics are a bit...well, weird. But I love them! Right. Here you go.

Your mouth is a revolver
Firing bullets in the sky
Your love is like a soldier,
Loyal 'til you die
And I’ve been looking at the stars
For a long, long time
I’ve been putting out fires
All my life

Everybody wants a flame,
They don’t want to get burnt
And today is our turn

Days like these lead to...
Nights like this lead to
Love like ours.
You light the spark in my bonfire heart.
People like us—we don’t
Need that much, just some-
One that starts,
Starts the spark in our bonfire hearts

This world is getting colder.
Strangers passing by
No one offers you a shoulder.
No one looks you in the eye.
But I’ve been looking at you
For a long, long time
Just trying to break through,
Trying to make you mine

Everybody wants a flame,
They don’t want to get burnt
Well, today is our turn

Thank you all for stopping by! Now I need to go run those errands. *Eyeballs stack of overdue library books mournfully.*

God Bless!

Now You See Me

I decided to knock out a movie review today, since my list of movies to review is piling up. Because Now You See Me was such a fun movie, and because it's still fresh in my mind, I'm going to do that one.

~Now You See Me~

"First rule of magic: always be the smartest person in the room."

Right off the beginning, you basically know that there is going to be a 'big picture' thing that you are going to miss. They tell you that straight up. Being me, I sat through the entire movie trying to see the big picture, trying to figure out why they'd pull a con like that, and what the end game really was. The ending still had me totally mind-blown. In fact, if I was asked what I thought of this movie,my answer would probably just be, "Mind Blown!"

"Whatever is about to follow, whatever this grand trick is, is really going to amaze. Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you'll actually see."

Four magicians-The Four Horsemen- put on a show, an incredible, impossible show, in Las Vegas. The trick? They rob a bank in Paris as their finale.  Now that's the sort of magic that people won't forget!

Oh yes, it's also a crime.

Dylan Rhodes
Agent Rhodes is assigned to the case and begins to track The Horsemen. The only problem is, they seem to always be a good couple steps ahead of him. And when they're not ahead, they are behind him. How can you keep up with a group of people whose jobs are misdirection?
I think Rhodes was my favorite character. There was just something about him that was extremely likable. You feel a little bad for him through most of the film. It would be so maddening to be outsmarted so much.

But then...Mind Blown!

Alma Dray
She is the rookie Interpol agent. Rhodes doesn't particularly want her on the case, but she is a clever girl and quite frankly, she's pretty good at her job.
I usually don't care much for characters like this. I usually find them pushy, obnoxious, or rude. But Alma was adorable. Rhodes ends up liking her too, which made me very happy.

This movie makes you feel a little torn. You want Rhodes and Dray to catch the Horsemen. They really can't get away with stealing stuff. But you also really like the Horsemen too, and you'd rather they didn't get caught. Even though four magicians could probably pull off the world's coolest prison break...

Which brings me to the Horsemen!

J. Daniel Atlas.
This guy is sort of the leader of the group. At least he likes to think so. He's cocky, and rather too smart for his own good. He's the sort of fellow you'd want to slap half the time but deep down inside, you like him. You can't help it.

Henley Reeves
She is an escape artist, but she does more than just escape. In fact, I'd have called her...The Assistant. But that sounds less impressive than the escape artist thing. After the initial bit at the beginning where she escapes a tank of water, she doesn't do any escaping. So I don't really know why that's her title. No matter, she works well with the others and I liked her well enough. But unlike the others, her talent doesn't really play into the plot. Which is a sort of a shame.

Merritt McKinney
He likes to hypnotize people. Trust me, that's a really useful ability. I liked him most of the time. He had a couple of lines that I didn't appreciate, but overall, he was pretty funny and they couldn't have pulled the job without him.

Jack Wilder.
Jack is my favorite of the Horsemen. Of all of them, he is the most understated. He does sleight of hand tricks. But you don't know his true talent until later in the movie. This man is very talented. If you want to know what his talent is  (and it's very cool) you're going to have to watch the movie. *Smirk*

I don't really know what else to say about this film. It was fun and interesting and the sort of thing you'd have to see to understand. The plot is rather brilliant and they worked it out so that the ending is exactly what you wanted. Even if you didn't know that until you saw it.

Like I said before, "Mind Blown!"

I'd recommend it to to pretty much everyone. Even if magic and heists aren't your thing, you might just surprise yourself and like this particular magic show and heist.
Being someone that loves magic so, so much, it was right up my ally.

I believe it was rated PG-13 and I think that was a fair rating. There is some swearing, but I can't remember how much. I sort of tune that out when I watch things and don't remember it until I tell someone, "Hey, we should watch that!" and then I sit there going, "Oooh, he said that word again...and again!" Then I feel awkward.
There is a scene right near the beginning that we fast-forwarded. A guy and a girl are going upstairs--once you get there, just fast-forward. You'll know what I mean when you watch it. After that, there isn't any other scenes at all. Well, there's apparently a Mardi Gras scene that I didn't catch. So, if you don't catch it, hurray! If you see it, I do apologize. It's a really quick, sort of off-to-the-side kind of scene that makes you go, "Ew," and then it's gone. So...
Other than that, it's clean! :) Oh...um....there may or may not be one or two off-ish conversations. Just F.Y.I. Nothing terrible ,but it's nice to be warned.

Mind Blown!

I will definitely watch it again. I've seen it twice already and enjoyed it more the second time. You know what's going on the second time and you feel smug about it. Especially when you're watching it for the second time with someone who's watching it for the first time. *Nods* Treskie was trying so hard to see the Big Picture! But...she didn't. I don't think anyone could see that coming. It was awesome! Miiiiiind Bloooown!

*Eyes movie review list and checks off Now You See Me* I feel like I accomplished so much now!

Hope you enjoyed that and if you watch it, let me know what you thought of it. Even if you didn't like it. Still, If you aren't at least impressed by the ending, then...then you are crazy! Or maybe you're just as clever as The Horsemen.  But I doubt it.

God Bless!

In which I realize today's date.

Hello, Peoples.

It's one week till Christmas . One Week! This is both joyous news and a bit startling. I mean...one week!

And I haven't posted any of the stuff I've been up to. I haven't posted anything in a while. This week is looking rather alarmingly busy to boot...

But I like a bit of happy, hectic chaos. *Nods uncertainly*

I'll probably end up posting all the decorating pictures in one massive clump. :) Like, "There! It is done!"
That's how most everything in my life is. Carefully planned out--then; heck with all the plans! Now's the time to wing it! I seem to work the best under a bit of pressure. Deadlines really do motivate a person.

But enough about what I haven't done.

Sunday was a bright, clear sort of day, so Treskie and I went out into the meadow/forest to cut some pine boughs for decorating and to snap some pictures. It was rather jolly.

We found this beautiful, secluded spot where a stream had frozen over and everything was just a blinding mixture of glittering snow and sky.

It was just nice.

I remembered to bring 'props' but didn't remember to pose with them, so I just clumped them together in a picture. It would have been a shame to have lugged them along and not use them at all! So, two ornaments, a candy cane, a pine cone and a scarf randomly stuck in the snow. Its't it lovely? lol.

Later on Sunday, some of us went out to watch The Desolation of Smaug.

It was great fun.

There was not nearly enough of Bilbo.*Grin*
Martin Freeman absolutely nails his role. The scene with he and Smaug? Teriffic!

I really loved Bard too.

I felt there was a bit too much of the elves. :) And I didn't understand the whole Tauriel and Kili thing. That was odd. Though Kili is a very cool dwarf.

Swords.
Dragon.
Bilbo.

It was much fun.

But I have things to do and places to go, so I'm going to leave you all now.

God Bless!

"Every 5000 years the worlds align, allowing an ancient darkness to strike..."

Thor: The Dark World.

Hello, all!

I did something fun last night. I went with some of my family to see Thor in theaters!

I was very impressed with it.

Over the last 3-ish years, I've become a superhero geek. I think I can in all honesty blame Captain America for this problem.

How could you not love Steve Rodgers?

I really enjoy the first Thor movie. It's fun, the characters are great and there was some really good character building in it.

But it wasn't my favorite.

Thor: The Dark World was brilliant. It reminded me a lot of the Avengers (Go figure:) with lots of humor and that crazy, fun action. I felt like Asgard was portrayed much better in this one and the plot was just over-all more exciting than the first Thor movie.

There were some moments there were rather heartbreakingly beautiful. I love moments like that. And like I said before, the humor was perfect. Whoever writes the scripts for the Avengers movies are brilliant at it.

Thor and Loki...awesome.

The character development was fantastic for these two. Both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are really good actors and their chemistry was perfect.

I think, for me, Thor was the most likable in this movie. And I loved him in the Avengers so that just means that he keeps getting better. He seems wiser and gentler and I love that.

Loki is...well, he's Tom Hiddleston. Only someone that is as talented as Tom Hiddleston could play such a bad person and make him likable. And trust me, he was very likable in this movie. Sure, there were a few times when you'd really like to pull a Jane Foster and give him a swift right hook...

But mostly you just want him to be a good guy.
You really want him to be a good guy.

Jane Foster. Not my favorite character, but still, she did a really good job with her roll and I definitely liked her more in this movie than the first one. I can't put my finger on why, but I did.

A character I wasn't expecting to care about was Frigga--Thor and Loki's mother. I loved her. She was amazing.  Seriously. Prepare yourselves for loving Frigga. :)

And Because I don't want to give away and spoilers, (It's been hard not to!) and because I have to finish making dinner now, I'm going to leave it at this and say no more.

Only that you should go and see it. And stay all the way through the credits. You know why. You should know why. *Grin*

It was pretty clean as far as I can remember. There was one little thing with a fellow not wearing pants. And another little thing with same fellow not wearing clothes. But you don't see anything there. One of those things where it sounds a lot worse than it was. Think Avengers when the Hulk falls from the sky and is in the warehouse. Similar thing. But please check the rating for yourself and do your own research on it. You all know the drill. :)

God Bless~

Today...

You must understand.
He does the duty of two sons now.
For himself; and for the one
who will not return.

I really want to watch Lord of the Rings again.
I'm currently listening to the soundtrack for the Fellowship of the Rings (I just finished listening to the Return of the King) and am wishing I could stay up all night and just do a Lord of the Rings marathon. But that's not going to happen. At least, not tonight. ;)

I put on this outfit this morning and felt very much like John Watson. If John Watson were me. Which sounds sort of creepy. Maybe I should say, if John Watson were female. Or...Erm...
It's the shirt.
Or close enough.

I love this hairstyle and wish I could figure out how to do it on myself. It doesn't look like it would be that hard, but all my attempts turn out like a like a rather hairy bird's nest. Not cool.

This is hilarious. You should totally watch it.

Today was was rounded off with popcorn and m&ms. Our friends came over for a movie night and we watched Bachelor Mother. It was so much fun!

This movie is one of the cutest Ginger Rodgers movies out there. I love it.

Now it is very late and I need to go and sleep.
Goodnight and God Bless!

Simply Saturday

Hello, all! Does anyone else love Saturdays as much as I do? I love Saturdays with so much love, you guys!

Well, at least the Saturdays that I don't have to work. But you know, even those Saturdays that I do have to work, are not too bad. It's still the weekend and for some reason, weekends are just awesome.

Today was a lovely Saturday. I cleaned everything while listening to music and singing rather vigorously. I love that 'everything is clean' feeling. It's awesome. I love the smell of lemon-y wood polish and vanilla candles. It makes the house seem so fresh.

I watched 'The Magic of Ordinary Days' (For the first time!) while I painted my nails.

That is such an adorable movie! If you haven't seen it, you really must. It gives you the warm-fuzzies. ;)

It's one of the best movies I've watched in a long time. The story was just so good! Not to mention how adorable the clothes were. I think the 1940's had some of the cutest clothes.

Here. Le Trailer.

Then there was more music, getting dinner going, making cookies and even more music. *Sigh* Pretty lovely, no?

There's nothing like puttering around the house all day, warbling away at the top of your voice anything from;

"The Phaaaaaaan-tom of the Op-er-ah is there!
Inside your miiiind!"
to
"I could have DAAAANCED all niiiight,
I could have daaaanced aaaaall niiiight!,"
to

"Ooooo-ooo, Remember when it rained...in the darkness I remain.
Running down. Running down. RUNNING DOOOOOOOOOOWN!"

I sometimes feel bad for my neighbors. I honestly wonder just how much noise from my house can be heard by other people. But I'm glad I don't know. *Grin*

Anyway, I thought I'd go ahead and show some of the doodles I've done lately.
Doodles are fun.

I like the cloths in this one...and nothing else really. :)

This one is my favorite.

Well, that's all from me. What's new with all you?

I think I'm going to go grab my book, make some tea, and spend the rest of my evening reading. Seems like a good plan.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
God Bless!

Saturday Style~Explorer Style

This has been one of my favorite outfits this year.

It reminds me of a female version of Indiana Jones.

Or Tinint.

It was perfect for today, tramping about in the woods and climbing boulders.

Saturdays are just the best!

A couple of my sisters and I are house sitting this weekend. This is the view from the deck.
Not too shabby.

Now I'm off. It's time for some ice cream. And Tangled. *Smirk* I get to watch Flynn Rider tonight, you all!

And speaking of Tangled, have any of you seen this? I love it!

God Bless!
