Lyrics...

Hello, Everyone!

So...I've decided it's time to do something new and scary. I'm going to share some lyrics that I've written.

Look at me, being all brave and stuff!

These are just sort of a work in progress, but I am slowly getting the melody together. (With a little help from Treskie ;)

Anyway, let me know what y'all think, okay?

You Cry
It breaks me.

I'll Try
To help you through,

It's not the End,
I promise.

There is a future
For you.

And it's hard to remember
When life was better,
And days were not covered in shadows.

This battles been hard,
We've all got some scars.
And healing takes time,
Just Remember...

This darkness will go away,
It always does,
And I'm not
Leaving you alone.
Trust a little while longer,
Stay strong,
This darkness cannot last forever.
Just hold on...

That's the first part anyway. Feel free to let me know what you think. If you like this, maybe I'll go ahead and start posting my lyrics more often.

Take care and God Bless!

A few random things.

It's pretty grey and rainy out side right now. I am enjoying it quite a lot. Thunder and lightning...puddles and wind! *Sigh* Perfect weather for listening to music and doing crafts. Or settling down with a good book and some cocoa. Or perhaps just blast the Phantom of the Opera, sing at the top of my lungs and bake some cookies.

Except, I happen to have this really bothersome cold and my voice is struggling a big right now. I think it must be breaking up, (At least I hope it's breaking up!) because I've been sneezing and blowing my nose so much today...
I rather fancy that singing in this condition wouldn't be the best thing for my poor, strained vocal cords.

I guess I'll just listen to Josh Groban instead.

I just finished reading Perfect Scoundrels and I really enjoyed it. Ally Carter is a very good author and her books are such fun. I can'd decide what series I like better, the Heist Society books or the Gallagher Girls books.  I might lean ever so slightly toward the Gallagher Girl series. The later ones, that is. The first books the main character is really young and the stories are a bit more lighthearted. The later ones are gooood. :)

Last night I was going through some of my documents and started reading some of the things I've written...and for the first time,I didn't hate all of it! *Cackles gleefully!* There was on fight scene in particular that I hated after I wrote it. I didn't seem to flow the way I wanted it two and it almost felt too long. But last night, it was pretty cool! I was like, "I wrote this? Hmmm. Not too shabby."
I think I need to start working on my stories again. I have two stories in particular that are very dear to me and I would like to finish them at some point during my life. :) I don't really consider myself a writer. It's just a 'sometimes' hobby. *Shrug*

And speaking of writing...Letter Game. *Head-desk* I don't know why I keep forgetting so completely about the stupid letter game! It's terrible. So now that's back on my to-do list.

Now I think I'll slip away to my little kitchen and do some baking.

Don't forget that Friday is the last day you can enter the Disney giveaway. All you need to do is a quick post on anything Disney cartoon related and leave a comment on my blog. :)

God Bless!

The letter game

My sister and I have been toying with the idea of doing a letter game for quite a while. Treskie suggested doing it between our blogs and I thought that was such a cool idea that I was like, "Totally! Let's do this thing!"
And then we nodded and put if off for a few months. *Grin.*

The longer we waited, the more nervous I got about it. I mean, if we start a letter game and post them, we'll have to finish it! *Gasp.* Finish something I start? Can it be done?

The evil little voice in my head insists that this is going to end in disaster.

Hey-ho! We're going to do it anyway.

So how this is going to work is, (and bear with me, here. It might be confusing,) I will send my letter to Treskie and she'll post it on her blog as if she received it, (which she did.) and then she'll send me her response letter and I'll post hers on my blog. Capisce?
Back and forth we'll go, hopefully creating a brilliant story.

We'll add a 'letter game' page to our blogs and sort of archive our letters in one spot so it will be easier to follow as it goes on.

The general idea is to tie the stories together as we go along, so by the time the letter game ends, it's one story.

It begins. Go over to Treskie's blog for the first letter!

*Fingers Crossed* Here's hoping that this will be awesome!

God Bless.

Writing and Pictures

I love the evenings where you can curl up with a cup of coffee and just write. Everything's done, you've cleaned, you did the dishes, you got into your comfy pajamas and all that's left is coffee and writing.

Oh yeah, and Pinterest.

I love this necklace...I'd do a lot to own such a cool little thing.

How pretty is that?

YUM!

Oh yeah...I should be writing. *Grin*

I'm doing pretty well on my Nano story. I like a lot of the stuff I've written, *Sigh of relive* and I pretty much know where I'm going with the plot. *Cheers and pats self on the back.*

A problem I'm running into, though, is...I have a character that keeps changing. I've dubbed him my 'skitzo' character.

He's my most interesting character in the story, I think, and he has such potential. And I keep tweaking and yanking at his back-history which makes his current story ever changing. Sometimes he's a really sweet fellow. Sometimes he's not so sweet. Sometimes he makes sense to me. Sometimes he doesn't.

I know how I want him to turn out, and I think I'm getting a handle on his personality. What? I'm only 22,000 words into my novel. There's still plenty of time to get him right.

That's been my biggest snag so far. I have to slap my hands when they try to go back and change things. I remind myself firmly, "write now, edit later

But it's hard.

Hey, any of you ever watched 'Second Hand Lions'? If you haven't you really should. It's a fantastic move. One of my very favorites. The story is unique and the characters are brilliant.
It's been a while since I've watched it.
But I think I'll have to watch it again soon.
Maybe once I get my word count up.

That's all for now.
God Bless!

Random Things

Strange things happen to me when I do research for a story. I must first mention that I really love research and I often sort of hide in it. Kinda like, "I'm not ready to start writing...there is so much about internet hacking that I don't know!" Or, "I don't care how many people in history apparently used lemon juice as invisible ink, that stuff doesn't work! Please, Mr. Google, give me more options so that I can make that part more believable."

Anyway, not only do I love research, I can get totally sidetracked with it. Literally, I will start by looking up boxing terms so my 'fight scene' will read better and end up watching boxing tutorials on youtube...which moves you right into crazy martial arts stunts....*sigh*

I wont say what I was researching, but I discovered "Adult Obstacle Courses." And I WANT one.
So Much.

It's like going to the park...but for older people. Believe it or not, there are all sorts of different tips and tutorials on how to make a custom obstacle course in your back yard. I sooo hope on day I have like, five acres of land and I can dedicate an acre or so to this.
How cool would that be?

I want it to be something like this.

AIR ASSAULT!

Only, I would like mine to be a touch more private and a little bit less intimidating. And as long as I'm dreaming, I'd really love for it to have a small rock climbing wall. *Nods* Thank you very much. :) That will be all.

God Bless!

"It seems like it may turn out to be,

feels, like it will undoubtedly,
looks, like a rather blustery day today."

It's just one of those brilliant days where it's cold enough for sweaters and slippers but not so cold to make a person cold.

Cold enough for cozy.

The sort of day where you just want to bake and write and drink lots of tea--british style.

The type of day where the leaves and pine needles get blown off the trees in a swirling rush and the clouds are dark and threatening.

The sort of day where you can listen to music loudly and sing your heart out.

The type of day where you can smell autumn on the wind and hope it rains.

The sort of day where the only meal that makes sense for dinner is potato soup and bread, steaming from the oven.

The type of day where that detective story you'be been pondering in the back of your mind seems real.

The sort of day where you can feel how beautiful life is. And thank God for it.

It's that sort of day.

Tonight will be the type of night to pop some popcorn, make some hot chocolate and watch a movie. It will be that sort of night...

God Bless

Some stuff.

Here's what I've been doing. I actually never finished coloring this lily, but I think it's pretty anyway. I love Prisma color pencils, F.Y.I. They are fabulous. Just a touch on the expensive side. That's why I've been using my brothers. ;-)
This one just started as a sketch that I decided I loved and therefore put a tiny bit more effort into.
And my attempt at a self portrait. It doesn't really look like me, (I hope!) but it did turn out nicely.
So you get a couple different stages.

And finished. Hair is really hard for me and I'm not wild about it here, but...

I like it. :-) Except it looks more washed out here than it really is.

~BEADS~
I do love working with beads.

Earrings are my specialty, though I have branched out to bracelets, too.

An earring and hairpin set I made for one of my sisters. Yeah, tutorial for hair pretties-check! I will do it. Because, they do look awesome when they're in the hair.

-Writing-
I am one of those persons that loves outlines. I can write story outlines like nobodies business. It's just the actual 'writing the story part' that isn't quite so snappy. This last week I've been doing a chapter by chapter outline, character building, research notes, and the all-important timeline graph.

Fresh notebooks are the best. Crisp pages...Yay!

Believe it or not, John Denver and Placido Domingo sound great together! This song is beautiful.
