Oh, what a week!

First, two of my friends came up to visit for the week. We did all sorts of fun things, including staying up far to late every single night. :-)

And it just so happens, I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Second, we went to Josh Groban's Straight to You concert. As most of you know, Josh Groban is my favorite singer. Th concert was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it. (It so didn't feel like he sang for two hours! It just flew by. :-)

I'd post more pictures of Josh, but we couldn't get many and a lot of them are fuzzy. :-(
And third, I have a new favorite super-hero. We went and saw, "Captain America" and I loved it! Seriously, it was great. I can't think of anything 'bad' or 'off-ish' in the movie at all...maybe a little language, but otherwise it was very clean.

I totally love the WWII costumes.

I'm now coming down from my little cloud nine and getting back into the swing of everyday life. This is a song Josh sang during his concert. (It's actually on his 'Awake' bonus CD, if you're wondering.) It seems fitting to share it with you now. Unfortunately, I can't embed it, but here's the link. http://youtu.be/XL71Za0Kpqg
Take care, everyone.

Amy

Another Award

I have another award! How nice. :-) And I don't even have to give any facts about myself to claim it. Wow.

I do need to nominate five other bloggers that I feel deserve this award and they are as follows.

Maria at: http://www.firefleetandcandlelight.blogspot.com/

Bree : http://www.haystackstyle.blogspot.com/

Molly at: http://www.apiperscave.blogspot.com/ (even though she doesn't have followers. :-)

Kellie at: http://kelliefalconer.blogspot.com/

Shealynn at: http://shealynns-faerie-shoppe.blogspot.com/

The goal of this award is to spotlight upcoming bloggers who currently have less than 200 followers. The rules of the award are:

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you.
2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers.
5. And most of all - have bloggity-blog fun!

So, Thank you, Cat at World Crafter for the award. :-) And congratulations, all you other bloggers. Oh, I tried to leave you all a comment to let you know about the award, but I couldn't post on a few of you, so...sorry! :-)

I haven't posted a song in a while so here. :-) I just finished reading "Kidnapped," by Robert Luise Stevenson and I'm in a Scottish mood now. (After going to Scotland, I actually know most of the places in the story! I've been  to most of the places in the story! That has made the book way more awesome.:-) So here, the Corries.

Cheer up.

What to do if you are in a 'ho-hum' mood in three easy steps. (Okay, maybe four.)
1.)You'll want to get whatever work/chore that you have done. And quickly. You'll enjoy yourself more if it's done. Promise.
2.) Get a cup of tea or coffee and a yummy treat ready on a pretty little tray. (Find a quiet place.)
3.) Turn on your favorite music. (Josh Groban. It's a toss up between his "Awake" or his "Illuminations" albums.)
4.) Grab a book. (I recommend "Lark." by Sally Watson. Awesome book.:-)

You'll be amazed how happy you'll feel in no time whatsoever!

God Bless!

Victorian Updo-for short hair.

Here is a really pretty updo for those of you that have short-ish hair. It's pretty easy to do...hopefully my instructions don't get confusing! :-)
Start off with your hair in a ponytail. Easy enough, right? If you use a nice, fluffy scrunchy that will help add some volume to this sytle.

Now you are going to do a topsy-turvey. I.E. You are going to stick your fingers up through the bottom of the pony...like thus...

and grasp the hair between those fingers and pull it down...thus.

Now you are going to gather up the little ponytail and pin it up so it covers the bottom of the scrunchy and forms a bun...sort of. :-) Pin the pony up with whatever works for you. I usually use a little claw but if you have really thick hair you may consider using hair pins...a big claw would be a bit noticeable.

Twirling the remaining hair into a bun and position it on top of the ponytail hole. (When you are actually doing this style, that will make perfect sense, promise!) Pin everything down so it feels secure and add a pretty something to dress up the look. Ta-da!
Go try it out! I have a really hard time doing this style on my hair, because my hair is so long but it should work for quite a few hair lengths . (I'm sorry...the picture quality is not as good as I would like. The lighting is pretty bad.)
I'll be back with another post quite soon.
God Bless
